@dianeravitch don't you fear that a national curriculum might have the same narrowing effect as the testing movement? How would one decide what should be in it. If Hirsch proved one thing, it is exceedingly difficult to narrow down what is important for people to know. Obviously some things will be left out. I worry about that immensely.
