# ZD vs City of L.A.'s BEACH CURFEW: Not being able to afford LAPD to patrol beach is not reason to deny state beach and free speech access!

# SORRY LOS ANGELES CITY: You are not going to deny me my STATE right to beach access cause you can't afford LAPD from 12m-5am. YOU'LL LOSE!

# If you have to sleep during day; and are up overnights; and want to walk beach 12m-5a, YOU ARE DENIED STATE ACCESS by L.A.'s illegal curfew.

California Coastal Commission, city of L.A. at odds over city beach curfew law:

HALPERN of COASTAL COMMISSION: In a Feb. 3 letter to the city attorney's office, Helperin said that according to a recent review, the city's beach curfew ordinance has received no such authorization, making the law “of no legal force or effect.”

permits.

Councilman Bill Rosendahl said the city's curfew law is primarily about safety and was put in place for a reason.

“The reality is that we can't have officers patrolling the beach all night long; we don't have that luxury,” he said.

(Sorry, Bil...just because you can't afford to patrol, doesn't mean DOWD/DOGG, et al are denied are legal rights. There are a lot of areas the police can't patrol at night.)

Helperin said the commission understands the city's desire to ensure public safety and is interested in working on a solution that achieves that goal while preserving public coastal access, but the city “refuses to recognize our jurisdiction.”

[But like Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones, Trutanich and City Attorney's office is "Tumbling Dice" on DOWD/DOGG.]
