MustLuvRselvesBforeWeCanLuvAnother

This makes sense at so many spiritual and psychological levels. If we love ourselves and accept who we are, we have a better chance of offering much of the same openness to others. But there's more...

To truly love ourself (so we can love others), and value ourself (including all our gifts and baggage, our total humanness, etc.), we must know we are loved by another.

Ideally this comes from a strong Mother/Father parental love that shapes us and allows us to experience love in a secure way. Unfortunately this sometimes does not happen for many reasons.

How then do those people deal with all this if they have not experienced that Mother/Father love, early on?

I believe that the source of love comes from God, who loves ALL. So each of us already has this important source, that can still fill us, if early parenting experiences leave a void.

Depending on one's faith tradition, that acceptance may come from their experience of the Buddha within, or their Atman, or maybe their connection with others they sense are authentic connections among "true" selves, but without any religious connection, but surely a spiritual connection.

For ALL of us are spiritual beings, and most people actually do believe this when you sit down and talk with them in an intimate connecting dialogue. It's how we all are, and we are all connected to. Thanks for reading this:) EdC
