#CulturalHegemony #EconomicWarfare - Do innovators and entrepreneurs have to be business types? The business of business is: business. The prime responsibility of a corporation is to generate income for the shareholders. There's over-lap with innovation and entrepreneurship there, but not a 1-to-1 mapping. That's my point.

Say you're a Academy Award winning director. Does that mean you're a business type? Somewhat, necessarily. But not really. See what I'm getting at? Say you were the project lead for the shuttle's CanadArm. Certainly the stuff of entrepreneurship, but does that make you a business type? Not necessarily. Right?

The reason I pay attention to this is that business types don't much have time for me and my stuff. And I can't fault their instincts: I don't much appreciate their attitude. And I don't much admire their values and priorities. A small few are almost heroes to me, but mostly I find them narrow and ... and worse.

But business types rule the roost. That's their game. And I don't much like the way they're running things. That's my point.

If it's about getting things done ... like having a livable planet ... then I'm all over that. But if it's playing a game to see who can get the maximum number of marbles ... and don't tell me business types don't play zero-sum games ... then I think that's toxic. Bottom line, it's pretty simple.
