#AskJulian I paint most of the time. Usually if I'm shooting a movie, the shooting doesn't take long, so in pre- or post-production, I'm always working. I don't like flying around, and talking on the telephone, and I don't like sitting in dark offices, so painting is ultimately more satisfying. OTOH, when I'm shooting a movie, the moment that is captured is more like painting, it's more like a spontaneous activity...in both I'm just waiting for that magic accident.
