#AskJulian There have been people that have been very kind to me in both...and the reverse is true. I don't really fit into the film industry cause I don't make movies, I mean my goal is not to make money, so my values and that of the industry may not coincide sometimes. And if we think of the art world, the fact that I don't make domestic sized works that fit into everybody's home, makes it more difficult for people that want to sell art. That being said, I'm a painter, first and foremost, and the art world is my world, whether I like it or not. But the art world and the film world that I think about is really the community of souls that made the art, or the movie directors and actors that captured something that was worth recording. So in that sense, I would say that I have a very idealistic impulse despite the commerce of both.
@richardsonkelly #AskJulian Julian, do you have a preference between the art world or the film industry? Perhaps the worlds are less distinct with your work?
