Indianapolis- Lieutenant Pat Warczynski, Commander of the Indianapolis State Police Post, has released the traffic and criminal results for May, 2011. The Indianapolis District includes Marion, Shelby, Johnson, Boone, Hendricks, Hancock and Hamilton Counties.

• Traffic Warnings: 3,440
• Truck Citations: 689
• Truck Inspections: (Over 10,000 pounds) 462
• Trucks placed out of service: (Over 10,000 pounds) 199
• Commercial Drivers License Arrest: 152
• Driving While Intoxicated Arrests: 137
• Criminal Complaints Investigated: 180
• Criminal Arrests: 257 (including 78 felony)
• Police Service: ( Motorist Assist) 1,643
• Child Restraint Citations: 46
• Seatbelt Citations: 605
• Driving While Suspended Citations: 271
• Crashes Investigated: 344
• Crash Citations: 153
• Recovered Stolen Vehicles: 8
• Fatalities: 9

The Indiana State Police would like to remind motorists and farmers to be cautious and drive defensively when traveling on county and state roads this planting season. Motorists should be aware that farmers will be on the roadways with large, slow moving machinery.
