@skatingpj (In reply to http://tl.gd/e42omo) First, I am pleased to see that you nevertheless have a better opinion of Plushenko, then what could be concluded from yours text and comments on the CBC. :)

- me and all his fans were even more horrified with media harangue against a single man ... even in this ancient text (that I gave, and which you quoted) despite the denials of his agent - prevails terrible animosity towards Plushenko. :/
It began before the Olympics, and continues even today! Whether due to ignorance of the true facts, or malice - I will not go into that, but it exist... and this is really sick! :(
You know old saying: "100 times repeated lie becomes the truth!"

- even you (as a journalist whose "job" it was to know) did not know about this denial, but only based on the parts of bad propaganda you've made your conclusions and put him on the 9th place of your "all time" ranking. What then about him may think ordinary skating fans in North America? ... fortunately, in other parts of the world there was no harangue against him.

- even today is continues identical stories about Plushenko - his return is not welcomed with respect, what would deserved any world champion with similar achievements... than with mocking and some kind of the "fear" of his return (as if he's really "Russian "communist villain", as he was presented in the NBC trailer).
Not to mention almost complete denial of Plushenko's skating ability (except jumping), and not recognizing his "artistic" side - now and ever! .... what's really ridiculously, considering that he always received the highest marks for Presentation!
(... or how PCS is sometimes called)

@skatingpj:
"on the night in question in 2002, Russia took home two medals a very proud moment for your country. you are also right that both men pushed each other but as a fan it would have been nice not to have to choose between them."
@cekoni:
- actually, it was easy to choose between them... after all, why there is a different tastes? ;)
- btw, I am not Russian - like many of Plushenko's fans around the world!

If I a bit changed and "improved" your opinion of Plushenko, I will be very pleased! ... and please, be a little more "gentler" towards Evgeni, when you comment and write about him in the future ;-)

Best Regards, cekoni :)
