Having worked in the visitor industry on Maui for a decade, I can tell you that is extremely extravagant. The average vacation for a family of 5 to Maui staying in a hotel such as the one that these judges propose to stay in would be more like $10,000 or less. The Senators are right to call attention to this. This kind of extravagant vacation even by Maui standards is inappropriate for employees of a government that is running $1,000,000,000,000 annual deficits.
