Hello, friends. We’ve been taking some time to process everything that’s happening, as everyone has been, but I just wanted to check in. We are going to take a hiatus because it seems appropriate. There’s nothing for me to write about.

The blog has always been a place to celebrate the great qualities we see in Kristen. Like all of you, we’re disappointed, confused and saddened by everything that’s come out in the last few days. Her actions are inexcusable. There’s no other way around it. Cheating is never okay.

I still think great qualities exist in Kristen. People do bad things, but they are still people. Lord knows I’ve royally fucked up several times, and I am living proof that we are not our mistakes. I have faith that she is and can be more than this terrible, selfish decision. But. Quite frankly, I’m in no position to judge her. She doesn’t need that – nor does she need my forgiveness. She’ll have plenty of that to earn from the people she loves.

Kristen clearly needs time to figure a lot of things out. It’s a good time for us to take a breather too.

The “BTU” in KSIBTU has always been meant lightly, meant to be humorous. She’s a human being, with flaws, who makes good and bad choices. While I’ve celebrated the good, I’ve never actually thought she’s better than you, or me, or any of us.

You are all wonderful, beautiful, intelligent, witty, exceptional people. Don’t let other people tell you how to feel. Like a Reese’s, there’s no wrong way to do this. No matter how you’re feeling right now, I’m so happy that I’ve gotten to know you.

I love Kristen. I love Rob. I love potato chips. I especially love all of you. I will still be here on twittah. But as for the blog, I’ll see you again when Kristen gets it together and shows us that she can learn, grow and emerge from the consequences of her actions to be the woman I hope her to be.

In the meantime, encourage each other? Please? It’s the best thing about this community we’re all lucky enough to have found.
