Q:When you came to the absolute conviction that you can become a real singer?
A:I think that the turning point of my life was American Idol. I had worked as a theater actor, and that's when I first came to the television, and people started to recognize me.
Q:Many artists have their own idols. Who was idol for you when you're just starting a career? Has anything changed?
A:I grew up in musical theater, all my childhood was there. As for my heroes, Michael Jackson and Madonna were idols for me. I think they are the king and queen of the pop scene. Their work inspired me. I became older and other artists also influenced me. Then I got into rock-n-roll and discovered a lot of music from the past, written long before I was born. Queen and Freddie Mercury are my true heroes. And the whole 70's rock is just cool!
Q:Many of your fans are interested in, what kind of music do you listen.
A:I listen to different music. I'm obsessed with music. Constantly downloading new tracks. Of course, I listen to rock and roll, pop, dance, electronic and alternative music. If this is a cool track, it's great, regardless of genre. I would like to see more people fed the same passion for music. Despite the fact that it is now easy to download and listen to different songs, people prefer to identify themselves with one musical style. Therefore, they only listen to certain music, and dress accordingly. But times change, and I would really like people to like the songs despite it’s genre limits.
Q:Your second album Trespassing was released last year. Are songs on this CD that you like the most?
A:I like all of them. It all depends on my mood. If I feel in the heat, sexual, favorite track will be Shady. Seething rebellion — Trespassing. Broken English is very sexy and mysterious. So all in mood.
Q:Do you plan to experiment in music?
A:I'm always in search. I think that any project has to discover something new. I hope my third album will be fresh and different from the previous ones and will be a pleasant surprise for the audience. I hope to be able to discover something new, to embrace new styles and to grow as an artist.
Q:You have a very memorable image. Did you yourself come up with this image?
A:Yes, being a child I loved to play with costumes and makeup. Nothing has changed. I'm still a big kid.
Q:You are in Moscow for the third time. Were you able to walk around the city today?
A:Oh, the last time I went in the summer, I was able to walk on Red Square and a run to the shops. I do not know. Maybe I can get somewhere today after the concert, if i do not get tired too much, of course.
Q:What is the most powerful stimulus for inspiration for you?
A:I think my fans are very strong influence on me. On Twitter or Facebook, I see all their comments, emotions, and it definitely makes me move forward. And of course, I have my own ambitions. I want to do more, work harder, to surpass myself, I compete with myself.
Q:You have huge number of fans in Russia. What would you like them to wish for?
A:I have to say, my fans have amazing energy. We were very tired, riding the world and giving concerts. But in that moment, when we get on stage, I, my group, the dancers, we feel amazing feeling. Our audience is so passionate about what we do! Thanks for your support, for your energy, smiles and great Russian eyes. It will be a great evening!
Q:Do you have enough time to sleep?
A:I'll sleep when i'm dead!
