#Obamacare is a tax. Congress' tax is paid for by YOU with your tax $$. THAT is the exemption. Or subsidy, but the squabble over whether it's really an "exemption" is just semantics - the bottom line is they get out of the tax, but YOU don't. They did this, THIS August, because they were worried about "brain drain" on Capital Hill. What that means is that Congress is afraid they would lose their staff - the people who do the actual work and not just puckering up for photo shoots and fund-raising dinners. They worried they would lose them because without this exemption, their healthcare costs would significantly increase - just like yours are now - and they would find better paying jobs. Lying #MSM runs their "fact checker" stories saying "oh, it's not an exemption" on the basis that they technically enroll through exchanges. Big whoop. Technicalities are not the issue here. The issue is that they get out of the tax that they voted for you, and they get out of it by appropriating your tax $$. And, as a nice bonus, your rates go up, so now you have less $$.
