Snowy Owl Update: Condition of DC Snowy Owl Improves, Transferred to Larger Facility.

The @dcsnowyowl injured Thursday, January 30, 2014, after it collided with one or two vehicles, was transferred from City Wildlife, where it received emergency and critical care, to a specialized raptor care center on Sunday, February 9. This unusual visitor to the DC area will receive continued medical care and start outdoor flight conditioning at the unnamed facility.

Upon discharge from City Wildlife, the Snowy Owl was eating robustly on its own and becoming more active every day, requiring larger caging capacity which City Wildlife does not currently have. Rodenticide test results are pending.
