March 8th 2011 Arsenal v Barcelona
Van Persie receives a red card which knocks Arsenal out of the CL.

Arsenals next CL game is a qualifier the following season against Udinese. By Arsenals own admission Van Persie was suspended for the game (along with Nasri). But neither of their names are listed in the match squad.

Next 3 Chelsea games in CL are Group F games dated 15th Sep, 28th Sep, 19th Oct where Drogba is not listed in the squads as I assume he was handed a 3 match ban for a straight red card.
He plays and scores in the next match though dated 3rd Nov.
