A community workshop will be held in Dallas on Monday, August 25 to provide an update on recent and upcoming openings of tolled managed lanes (TEXpress Lanes).
North Texas has been and continues to be one of the fastest growing regions in the nation, leading to a greater demand on the transportation system. Traditional transportation funding, however, has remained mostly unchanged for many years as costs and demand increase.
Priced facilities such as toll roads and new TEXpress Lanes help expand transportation options when traditional funding falls short of meeting transportation needs. Investing tolls in the transportation system improves safety, reduces congestion, enhances quality of life, spurs economic development and benefits the region.
