Game industry people!

I know many of you will dislike or disapprove of this idea, but in the event that some of you might want to participate:

I am going to post up a "Tell Me Anything" on the main subreddit where GamerGaters congregate. This is the opposite of an AMA; it's a chance for them to TELL us things, hopefully coherently, in sentences longer than 140 characters. One of their top complaints is that they are not listened to, and are unfairly caricatured as all being harassers. I will give them questions, and they answer in the comments.

I have made very clear to them that we as an industry community still regard harassment as our top issue, and a very major and real one. This is to show that despite that horrendous disruption to our lives and careers, we still listen to those willing to be reasonable.

Because we know that harassment IS still a very real issue, I suggest you send me questions via private message, direct message on Twitter, email, or via my blog email form here: http://www.raphkoster.com/about-raph/contact/

I will anonymize everything. I am already out there, and as of yet do not feel at significant risk.

Feel free to ask heartfelt, honest, serious questions. Don't ask ones meant just to cause trouble. This is a good faith effort. I think anger is fine, but provocation is probably pointless. I will be putting in a fair number of questions myself.

I know some of you will think of this as appeasement. I believe the situation to be rather more complex than most know, and my chief interest here lies in restoring the industry to a place where players can play and developers can create in peace. I do believe there are people in the midst of GG who will respond in good faith. And if not, this Q&A may well tell us much about them anyway, and it never hurts to have more knowledge about what is going on. I am sure there are plenty who will want to debate the validity of this approach... feel free to do so.

I will be posting the questions on a rolling basis starting tomorrow sometime.
