Some thoughts on the fascinating episode 9 that has Serial returning to glorious form. It touched upon so many angles (that I honestly hoped it would) that made it more than just a procedural with a possible definite closure. The new revelations were just gravy.

Of course, the attempt to contact Hae's family was one thing. I was really expecting they'd talk about Adnan's prison experience till now, especially because how he comes across in the phone conversations. He sounds self assured, a man who's taken it so well...irrespective of whether he did it or not. He was not even 18 when he went to prison. If he was any other way, Serial could have just derailed. Or may have never happened. That point about seizing acts of kindness nestling into your brain, fleeting ones but memorable because of the time they happened.

Extremely poignant how he has the faculty to realize or consider himself lucky like he says. Also how he claims being religious helped. This could be a tricky subject to expand upon for anyone, with with all the other kinds of criticism already from the mostly liberal audience.
