One would hope so.
Once I have a date for surgery the OT is going to be a bit busy with requests from me! Bathroom is going to need more handrails for a start, plus a shower. Not to mention transfer boards or a hoist.
OTs are not my favourite people. I understand the problem with budgets, but funding a wet room for someone who just needs a walk-in shower (as they've done a lot in this building), doesn't help the money situation. Especially when I need a shower installing and there's never any money available! It's years since I've been able to have a bath (can't get in - arthritic hips/knees plus atrophied quads - and if I did I couldn't get out again - same reasons plus too weak from general muscle loss).
In 30 years of being seriously disabled I have had just one item, an electric profiling bed last year. And I got that via the community nurses who insisted on it, not the Social Services OT.
