I'm sure @dominicnutt will disagree @JCmacc1 @davestandard @PeterWalshAvMA but the consultation process has been flawed and rushed https://wanderingteacake.wordpress.com/the-saatchi-bill-2/bad-consultation-bad-bill/
The bill however well-intentioned has been rejected outside of Westminster. Politicians should not be making irresponsible decisions based on limited evidence. It is deeply distressing watching someone you love suffering for years and not being able to help them as much as you want. I know this personally. I have also been in meetings at MHRA where patient groups told of their stories but also MHRA staff sitting there who are patients with chronic, life-threatening conditions, same at NIHR. More and more people who are patients and non-patients are taking part in responsible research to find answers and 'expert patient' interests are growing. We have world leading research and we do need to take advice from dedicated health professionals who are trying to find the answers in the most safe, ethical ways.

I do have to go now.
