A spokesperson for Goldsmiths said: “Students occupied a small section of a corridor in Richard Hoggart Building this afternoon, using padlocks to prevent access to the area"
“Services based in that corridor are frontline student services, including access to hardship funds, disability support and immigration advice. Students and staff reported feeling unsafe and therefore we decided to close the offices down."
“We have sought constructive dialogue with the students over the past two days and have set out the ways in which their issues are already being addressed or there are agreed actions to do so. We will be giving an Open Letter to the students in Deptford Town Hall setting out the above this afternoon before preparing the College for the Easter closure.”
