#KristenLindsey Texas domestic cat huntress :(

There is a story circulating about a local vet, Kristen Lindsey who works for the local Washington County Animal Clinic in Brenham, Texas.

She posted a photo of herself holding a dead cat, shot by a bow arrow, with he caption "My first bow kill [cat face emoji] lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it's head! Vet of the year award...gladly accepted [laughing/crying emoji]"

When questioned in the comments of the photo, she followed up by stating "and no I did not lose my job. Lol. Psshh. Like someone would get rid of me. I'm awesome!"

To make the situation worse, a girl has reported one of her beloved cats that she pet sits for has been missing since the same date this "hunt" was posted. The cat, Tiger, has similar markings. We are still hoping it is just a coincidence, even though the vet and cat owner live on the same street.

Since the social media wildfire, WCA has had to remove their Facebook page (as they were first innundated with comments that were removed as soon as they were posted, and then they received over 100 1-star reviews in an hour). They have also removed her from their website staff listing. I'm sure they are dealing with a situation they weren't prepared for, and trying to do what they can "by the book".

Washington County PD responded to complaints and reported that the issue is in Austin County jurisdiction. Austin Co Sheriff's office says they are investigating and will prosecute to Texas Penal Code Sec 42.092.

Please share this and use the hashtag #KristenLindsey. This is bigger than Kristen herself, this is about public responsibility, ethics, and humane treatment of animals worldwide! I will post photos to this hashtag that you can share.
