NCPO statement follwing the ratchaprasong incident 1 sep 2015 /18.00



The overall situation has remained stable. Tourists continue to travel into Thailand as before. At the same time, the relevant authorities have attached great importance in conducting security measures to ensure safe and secure environment for both Thai nationals and foreigners. The general public can rest assured that great efforts of the authorities have been well undertaken.

Regarding the investigation, relevant agencies are expediting their work in all aspects especially those concerning the pursuit and apprehension of suspects as well as further investigation from all evidence gathered. The border forces have also been ordered to increase their security measures.
In terms of the inspection of persons passing through borders to pursue suspects as well as those who may have been involved in the incidents at Ratchaprasong and Sathorn Pier which the public has regularly been informed, at 11.00 hours today, personnel from the Burapha Task Force have found and apprehended an individual who is likely to be the suspect wearing a yellow shirt in the CCTV footage whose arrest warrant has been issued and circulated. The said suspect has been arrested at Pa Rai village, Aranyaprathet, Srakaew Province along the Thailand-Cambodia border. The suspect has since been turned into the police for further investigation.
