Tribute to Alan Magill
Dear ISTM Members,
We all still cannot fathom the sudden death of ISTM Past President Alan Magill on 19 September. We have received an outpour of grief and sympathy from ISTM members. Our thoughts are with his wife and children during this very difficult time.

The impact that Alan has had on all of us is reflected by the outpour that testified a universally deep admiration and respect for him as a person, leader and scientist. David Shlim captures this beautifully in his Memorial. The Ode written by Marie-Louise Scully summarises it all:
A life, we should
and so wish we could,
strive to follow,
in hopes to ease
our extreme sorrow
Alan, you are sorely missed, but your legacy will continue.
