#Houthis?

@swnote2 @JNovak_Yemen
Houthis are racial, sectarian group.
Their ideology stems from a belief that they are descendants of the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). This gives them chauvinist right to be masters and rest of society are their servants, and so to fight for monopolising the ruling of a state (and later the World) for ever.
To arm itself with power needed for achieving their goal, the group has shifted the Zaidi sect that coexisted with the other Sunni sect in Yemen for centuries. Instead, they allied with Iran which saw on in Houthis their bridge head to south of Saudi Arabia, and so began offering sectarian scholarships for Houthi scholars and sending shipping arms to the group, taking advantage of its arms needs after indulging into several wars with the government since 2004.
Its hold of the province of S'a'ada got stronger, especially after Arab Spring in Yemen which weakened the strong 33-year president of Yemen Mr. Saleh.
First signed of their religious zealot emerged in 2007 when they expelled from S'aada to the capital S'ana'a the only Jewish minority remained in Yemen.
Toward end of 2011 more sectarianism attitudes began taking shape when Salafis in Dammaj village (south east of S'aada) were harassed. Harassment became war in 2013 that ended with expelling of Dammaj people (thousands) out of S'aada mid-January 2014.
After Dammaj came the war against Amran province.
After Amran came the capital Sana'a which was taken over by Houthis in September 2014.
After Sana'a, Houthis went to provinces of al Baidha, Ibb and Hodeida and continued their war while signing agreements never were respected by them and keeping president and government under house arrest.
The secretary general of national dialogue conference (NDC) was also abducted while carrying the NDC's outputs document to the committee was assigned the task of watching its implementation. He was detained for weeks before he was released reportedly on condition that he would leave Yemen.
And, Houthi vicious, 'holy' war is continuing .....
The question that has been puzzling is what would have been the scenario if the SLC had not acted as soon as March 2015?
Just two weeks before, Houthi delegation had visited Tehran coming back with an agreement to fly 14 flights a week between Yemen and Iran!
What for? Virtually, we have no Yemeni immigrants in Iran nor have we that trade exchanges that could justify it.
