Starting this month, Tommy “Da Chief” Haugh & I (along with Matt Weber & Madeline Field as our executive producers) are starting a new project at www.StockandJocks.net
We are encouraging the younger generation to get involved in Finance and Economics by inviting the more promising ones to join us for series of live on-the-air interviews.
We are launching this effort with Joey Gillespie of Trinity, Florida. Joey is a 12-year old 7th grader at Seven Springs Middle School in Trinity, which is just north of Tampa. He is an avid and accomplished soccer player who is currently playing on 3 different teams and is a finalist to make the Olympic Development Team for the State of Florida. Born in Chicago, Joey also has thirst for learning and a passion for finance/economics. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet Joey, with his parents, for dinner, and he shows up with a spiral notebook and 12 econ & political questions about where we are heading as a country. It turns out this is a school project for Joey. Needless to say, I was uber impressed. The more I thought about it, I said to myself, we need to do this for him and for the next generation. So I talked to Tom and he was onboard instantly.
Joey will join us this Thursday at 0745 Eastern time (0645 Chicago time). His classmates will be listening too!! We are all excited.
