Explanation about Dr May's contraption, from ATop techie expert, Kryptoman! WOW!
It is a GoPro 360 degrees camera system for Virtual Reality capturing. Later, one can put on a VR headset (or a cellphone on a special contraption one can put in front of the eyes) and watch the concert while being able to look in any direction!
Because a selfie stick does not cut it anymore... :)
