#CEBAdvisory on DG6577 Cebu-Tacloban as of September 26, 2016; 10:40PM

Cebgo flight DG6577 Cebu – Tacloban aborted take-off earlier this evening. While taxiing back to the terminal, the aircraft encountered fire in the wheel well which was then contained. The crew initiated an immediate evacuation of the passengers following standard emergency procedures.

All passengers and crew were safely evacuated. CEB is providing medical assistance to one of the passengers who sustained a minor injury during the evacuation process, and is attending to the needs of all other passengers on the flight.

CEB arranged for hotel accommodations, and provided meals and transfers to the affected passengers. The airline also mounted recovery flights for tomorrow, September 27, 2016 (Tuesday), for the passengers’ re-accommodation.

The aircraft involved in the incident is an ATR 72-500 turboprop. CEB’s maintenance team is conducting initial inspection of the aircraft, and has reported the incident to aircraft manufacturer ATR.

CEB has also notified and is fully cooperating with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) with regard to the incident.

CEB commends the flight crew of DG6577 for their quick action in successfully evacuating all passengers.
