COLISEUM UPDATE: NYS approved $85 million for investment at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum site – bringing us a giant step closer to transforming the concrete jungle surrounding the arena into an innovation economy. The only way to redevelop and access those acres to create jobs and opportunities is to replace the current surface parking with structured parking, and every spot that you replace opens up for redevelopment. Separately, the Coliseum transformation is well-underway and will reopen in 2017. The property will also be home to an outpatient treatment and research facility run by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
