Divorce Day; New Year, New You!

Statistics show that legal firms are bracing themselves for "Divorce Day". Many people will wait until after Christmas before separating, as they want to have one last attempt at making their relationship work. People DO NOT separate lightly and separation can be one of the hardest decisions people ever have to make both for themselves and for their children.

How the separation is started will have a direct knock on effect on the cost of proceedings, clients health, and how any children will be affected by the separation.

Research shows that when clients are able to resolve their issues and separate using mediation this will enable them to continue to communicate, and make their own tailor made decisions for themselves and their children.

Mediation can enable people to make decisions about, finance, pensions, their homes, income, maintenance and all arrangements for their children.

Legal aid is still available for mediation subject to means. Provided one person attends a meeting and qualifies for legal aid the other person will NOT have to pay for their first meeting.

BEFORE you do anything call us in confidence at Family Matters Mediation. There is no cost for the telephone call and we will be able to discuss all options with you, to help ensure that if you and your partner are to separate that this is done as amicably as possible.
