Tribute to The Captain, John Bansch from Rick Venturi

I mourn the loss of John Bansch. I met John as a young assistant coach in the big 10 in the ‘60s. I got to know him as a friend when I cam back with the Colts in ’84. John actually took me 2 my 1st 500!! John epitomized every thing good there was in journalism. Smart, tuff, cynical at times, but always fair. We have lost a giant in the industry, and a great man.
