HATE isn't a toy

Thanks to .@ArnoldSchwarzenegger for his video. We had two neighbors from Germany... non Jewish (Catholic) Germans. They told stories. Most people were plenty scared when the Nazis came in. Their policy was to maintain a 'terrorized ten percent' as a warning.... One couple carelessly signed a political petition for a party considered too leftist.. a night came when they got a knock on the door... everyone froze, but it was a friend, so they let him in... He warned them to disappear. Their names showed up on a list. In a night or two they'd hear that dreaded siren, the screech of the brakes and get picked up... unless they left... So they packed whatever they could in the car and walked away from a bank account, an apartment they owned and a business. This was in the early days of the regime. Not all roads were heavily guarded.. They managed to find their way into France and due to American relations made it to The States... Another neighbor born after the war, told stories of Germans who would NEVER buy Mercedes or BMW's because they were collaborators. Other corporations did the minimum, but some , like the auto industry could not do enough... She lost an uncle and his family... Apparently they signed the wrong petition too.. got picked up and disappeared. Can't understand how Americans of all groups (even Jews) buy so many Mercedes & BMW's.. We'd tell her it's all different executives and investors come from all over the world now... She doesn't care. The corporate symbol is still the same.. .. I'd hear stories about people who rarely ventured out... maybe to go to work (keep your head down) or to get food rations (don't get noticed there too)... It wasn't fun... And draftees knew certain posts meant death... cannon fodder... nothing more... few, if any came back. For 'some reason' those without good party connections usually got those assignments... Then we knew a Polish Jewish woman who survived the death camps. Schindler's List only hints at the truth... .. So forget the spiffy HUGO BOSS uniforms. It wasn't a game. Few got rich or powerful. No one was truly secure. Everybody was looking at somebody else. You want to be somebody's slave? EVERY family lost a loved one ... or more than one... WISE UP! ... You're playing with matches.
