@tompetty The world lost its greatest living poet, yesterday. He was just a scruffy kid from Florida, yet he positively imprinted on the lives of so many just by being himself. He skyrocketed to icon/legend. He changed the music industry by refusing to back down. He was fearless in his pursuit of his unbridled talent. I'll forever admire and miss him, sorely: remembering I spent my last cent to see him at the Knickerbocker my freshman year in college, in Letterman's audience when he was a surprise guest, and when he and Mike Campbell graciously bowed to me as I snapped their pic in Hartford after Mike's Running Down a Dream solo. A more apt band name exists not: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are no more. #Heartbroken. 💔🎸 #TomPettyRIP
