[TRANS] Part4. AERA 12/25 TOHOSHINKI This is the place where we should be. The phrase, “O-ka-e-ri”, deeply touched our hearts.

MS: Yunho-san is 31 years old and Changmin-san will be 30 years old in February. The 30's are the generation that will play central roles in our societies. What kind of roles do the two of you wish to take?
YH: In your 30's, everyone expects you to work professionally. I wish to convey what I experienced, what I learned, or my thoughts to others.
MS: You’ll have someone junior to you so it is easy to express your opinion, right?
YH: Well, I actually think the other way around. In my 20's, because I was young, I just told my opinion to people without thinking through, “I want to do this.” or “I think this way.” like that. But in my 30's, I should not be like that. I need to be responsible for what I say. I understand the significance of words, therefore I need to carefully chose words. Even though, I still want to express myself and I think that I should do that.

CM: Thinking back of my 20's, I guess I only focused on myself, family, and people around me. I was making sure that “First of all, I have to be strong and focused.” and it was already too much for me so I did not have space in my heart to think about others.
MS: Do you feel now that you’ve changed the part of you?
CM: Yes. I feel that my vision has become wider than before, now I am almost turning to thirty.
From now on, if there is someone who needs help, I want to give the person hands. I also want to know about problems in our society. If there is anything that I can make this society better, I wish to actively participate in that opportunity.
YH: Wow… I am really happy to hear Changmin saying something like this. I am amazed. “Changmin is still 29 years old but already thinking like that.” I am inspired by Changmin.

MS: You sound like a superior/supervisor. If you two are working at a company, then Yunho-san is an executive officer?
YH: I’m not sure.
CM: Ahahaha, you gave an immediate answer. When I heard this question, I thought a general manager position is suited to Yunho. He can help bridging general staffs and the top of the company.
YH: I’m still not sure. You know, I tend to trust myself too much and move forward with my own idea while ignoring common senses and people with power (above me). I think that I am the type to complete my work by myself. And the bottom line is that I am not so interested in the title of my position.
CM: I think I will be one of general staffs. I am not good at guiding other people like an executive officer or general manager. I do not have much confidence to do something like that either. I will be a general staff and do my best to support “ in the background without expecting any credit (laugh).
