I have had many people tell me not to worry. And it is always, always, straight people.
Look, I am not mad at you for dreaming of a world in which I won't be attacked walking down the street of a city that is not Liberal LA or NYC. Your idealism is amazing.
But there is a real, a calculated attack that is already here. And it is being put in place by the federalist society, the Christian Right, and the Alt-Right, to take over the courts that once protected us. And they are winning.
You think Kavanaugh won't overturn Obergefell v. Hodges, you haven't seen the signs.
We must all wake up to the reality that an extreme, and hateful "Christianity" is attacking the very foundation of America. It is a "Christianity" that hates the other, that preaches separation, that preaches us against them, that says immigrants aren't welcome. Literally everything that is opposite of what Jesus taught.
We must all wake to it. Because that hate is winning right now.
