## Statement from Marvin (CEO): Downtime Monday/Tuesday ##

On Monday morning there were two very unusual coincidences, which demanded a lot from our team. All the happier we are that since yesterday morning everything is back to normal.

The RAID of a database cluster with 6 database servers for gameservers as well as the administration cluster of our new Vserver / Rootserver is almost gone. The RAID of the databases could not be rebuilt, so we had to manually restore all servers from backups. There has never been such an immense coincidence in the almost 10 years of ZAP.

But that wasn't all:
Some of you know that I take care of the infrastructure of our servers together with Pascal. Since I and my 2-year-old son had their birthday on April 21st and 22nd, we took this as an opportunity to enjoy our annual vacation on a cruise ship. As it is unfortunately on the high seas with pleasure: no Internet far and wide :-( the Internet of the ship with maximum 20kbit/s also only very conditionally usable. So Pascal was sometimes on his own with the infrastructural problems. He mastered it well, but with such a disturbance you simply need time and man power. That was the reason why the complete elimination of all problems took up to 48 hours. Normally we are quite fast as far as our troubleshooting management is concerned, but unfortunately not in this case...

If you were affected: please contact our support and we will credit you with 5 days runtime. Unfortunately we cannot do this automatically at the moment.

In the future another employee will be trained in "Disaster Management", so that such rare problems can be solved quickly as usual.

In this sense: Sorry for the exhausting start of the week and a trouble-free remaining week for you!

Best regards
Marvin
