Update on Caps Gaming not allowing Quebecers

After contacting the Régie and our Esport federation, there is no ruling involving esport from the Regie. This tournament is proven to be a talent detection which means the Regie has no ruling and means that Quebecers should be allowed as other Canadian citizens.

The spokewoman at Regie said :« There are no regulations for electronic sports». «
In this case, the Régie does not have jurisdiction because it is not intended to promote commercial interests. We are talking more about talent detection, she adds. The company made the choice to exclude Quebec, possibly by thinking that they had to respect the supervision of the Régie, namely the payment of certain amounts of the law on the publicity contests and amusement machines, but this is not the case. »

I also had confirmation that our Esport Federation has sent an email to Caps Gaming to confirm everything and to show support to our cause. At this point, we did everything in our power to show we should be allowed in this tournament. I repeat this, there are NO regulations for electronic sports from the Regie.

I expect Caps Gaming to work with us in the next few hours/days to allow us to play and to have possible Quebecers winners in Washington.

Thanks to everyone who showed support and signed the petition. Now we need Caps Gaming to change this ruling which should be abolished. A big thank you to the Esport Federation, MiViens, Régie and to RDS that helped us to get the good information ! Now let's pray we can have a chance to play !
