Contrary to my expectation, this film was not about making a journalist a hero but instead it’s a huge wake up call - reality check meddled with an intense interconnected plot of politics, crime, exploitation, corruption and how one’s feeling of being helpless or being able to see it but can’t do anything amidst all these. One thing for sure, it’s a direct attack on the Marcos Regime and the corrupt government officials trying to manipulate the media and put the law on their side. Very compelling and powerful. I just had a little off time with some rough transitions and handheld camera work and some detailings but I loved the behind-the-scenes feature that they included to have that docu-drama-based-on-a-true story feel.
