Calling Peter Parker gifted would be an understatement when minds like Reed Richards, Tony Stark, and Bruce Banner have called him “the best of us.” He’s been at the side of the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, and more through countless conflicts and has proven himself to be a valuable asset time and time again. Born to former S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Richard and Mary Parker, Peter would eventually live with his Aunt and Uncle after his parents [𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗘𝗗]. During his freshman year field trip to a local science exhibition, he would be bitten by a spider caught in a radiation experiment, altering his DNA and giving him superhuman traits that mimicked those of the arachnid. With these newfound powers, Peter recklessly decided to use them for his own gain with a brief wrestling career, inadvertently causing the death of his Uncle. Realizing how things could have been different, he swore to himself that he would never make the mistake again and only use his gifts to help others. Despite Peter Parker continuously exhibiting spectacular progress operating as an independent hero, his juvenile and at times insolent attitude, as well as his compulsive nature, are major factors in our decision to have him remain ranked as an Agent rather than granting him full membership to the Avengers Initiative.
