Attacking China, West has been digging a hole for itself.
Why China is miles ahead of Western countries in its Covid19 response? China is not in possession of a secret formula of success. Apart from the strict lockdown in Wuhan, the rest of China followed the same recommendations of US CDC of dos and don'ts doled out to the US public.
Difference lies in that the CPC actually has the political will power to push through the measures whether people like it or not. And the majority of Chinese people are cooperative. Actual control mechanisms are put in place to make sure every recommendation is followed through.
Big data tracking is put in place. There's a lot of western criticism of China's Big data tracking. Smearing campaign designates it as the quintessential crime of an authoritarian regime. While the West is mesmerized by their propaganda, they have forgotten that big data tracking actually saves lives. Maligning this method to the public as authoritarian everyday has the dire consequence that this option is no longer available to Western governments as a solution for contact and quarantine tracking of Covid19.
Since the West has described all of China's Covid19 responses as draconian belonging to the authoritarian paraphernalia of repression, these measures can no longer be enforced by Western governments without encountering violent opposition from the indoctrinated public.
At best, these measures are published as half hearted half baked government recommendations. Whether they are obeyed or not is left to the discretion of every individual. So in the end, anything goes. All benefits of mitigation done by one part of the population are immediately wiped out by the carelessness and recklessness of other parts of the population.
As the Chinese say, 作茧自缚，meaning the West has been digging a hole for itself. From the very beginning, West has been viciously criticizing everything China did or didn't do. China devised a playbook for the rest of the world to follow. But apart from some Asian countries, no country actually followed. One can't spit venom on the enemy's wisdom, trample on it as shit and then embrace it. That would be cognitively schizophrenic.
Meanwhile China's reaping the fruit of the hardship born. China's Covid19 cases have dropped to zero. Almost an impossible feat. Nobody believes China's statistics but all organizations project China will be the only country achieving positive economic growth in 2020.
Now like China, UK has decreed a 14 day quarantine for incoming travellers, But as in every phase of the pandemic, such quarantine is just talk, nobody is respecting it and there's no actual control.
Whereas in China there's big data tracking put in place. Big data tracking is the only way. With the huge number of incoming travelers, it's impossible to track without big data. No tracking means no actual quarantine.
Mind you, contrary to what people think, China is a civilized country re. personal data. The scope of application of big data is carefully circumscribed and application of which is subject to strict administrative procedure.
South Korea and Taiwan governments are praised as heroes of Covid19. But when one compares the statistics, they lag far behind China's provinces outside of Wuhan.
Covid19 as a new disease first broke out in Wuhan, so a few weeks fumbling and stumbling are normal. No need for West to scream "crime against Humanity" which doesn't help other than exhibiting once again the typical Western maliciousness. The disease was quickly contained, put under control in Wuhan and didn't spread out of the city to the rest of China. The statistics of the rest of the world, if they had followed China's example and performed at the same level, should be comparable to the statistics of China's provinces outside Wuhan. But it's obviously not the case. The best performing Taiwan's Covid19 statistics are
twice of those of the nearby Fujian province with half the population.
So the West has erred abominably to its own peril re. China. Everything coming from China must be trashed. All good about China can't be good. We see the disastrous consequence of such suicidal propaganda. If China's measures were trashed as draconian/orwellian/authoritarian by propaganda, this means in case of crises, these supposedly orwellian methods are off limits. Western governments can't make the U-turn and ask the public to do what has been relentlessly trashed by propaganda.
To cover up their incompetence and dishonesty, the only option left to the Western governments is to continue to trash the Chinese government, on everything and on nothing.
If the Chinese Covid19 statistics put the Western governments to shame, then these statistics must be slandered as false or more shamelessly as "crime against Humanity". Surprising they didn't call it "statistical genocide " since the word genocide has been thrown around a lot. Everything coming out of China is genocide. Bilingualism is genocide. Interracial marriage is also genocide.
For the moment the anti-China propaganda campaign re. Covid19 has been temporarily put aside maybe US doesn't want to incite the American public to do the comparison. The new propaganda focus is on the supposed persecution of Uighur Muslims, ie, Uighur genocide and concentration camps. Given the object of West attacks usually turns out to be China's greatest achievement, Uighur Muslims will turn out to be the best treated Muslim community. Not difficult when compared with the Muslim treatment by US/Nato.
However if I were to believe the Uighur concentration camp propaganda, I would be curious as to how China achieved zero Covid19 case in Xinjiang with 1-3m people locked up. Nobody is curious in the West. Nobody asked the question. This shows everyone knows it's a lie. You know I know everyone knows it's a lie. But to keep up the anti-China propaganda momentum, West must continue the lie and continue the virulent all out attack on China. Such a stance has already backfired re. Covid19, it will also backfire on other issues.
Somehow the West can't square the accomplishments of China with the evils of an authoritarian regime. An authoritarian regime usually has a failed state to show for its evils but the Chinese government is highly functional. An authoritarian regime usually goes hand in hand with crimes against humanity, but China has no crimes to show. All the alleged crimes are invented by the West.
Contrary to the horrid Western imagination, Uighurs live a good life especially now that the West backed Uighur terrorism has been eliminated by the highly effective CPC.
So let's see how the other attacks on China will work out for the US/UK/WEST...
