I do not understand why people put a bad name on us Roy mains. They keep calling us mashers or ghost busters. Well first of all, we do not mash, we condition our opponents to make mistakes so that we can punish them with our powerful moves. Even if our moves do not hit, we do so to create pressure on the opponent by the sheer force of our swings. Second of all, no, we do not fight ghosts at all, we simply shoo them away from the game because they are trying to ruin the game's experience. No one wants to play in a laggy clownfiesta with 20 frames of input delay, so we get rid of the unwelcomed guests.
Roy doesn't benefit from mashing at all, and I can't understand why the community has placed Roy as the king of mash. Every single one of our actions are perfectly calculated to increase our odds of winning, and if we miss one of our moves, we're extremely prone to heavy punishment during those 8 frames of landing lag after that falling upward aerial attack.
Roy is a mid tier character who is carried by the community's fear on bad Quickplay Roy players and I'm absolutely fucking sick of these 0-2ing motherfuckers bringing down my favourite character's sickness. Let us enjoy Smash Ultimate for fuck's sake.
